National Tertiary Art Prize 2008 TERMS AND CONDITIONS

Conditions of Entry

1. Entries

All entrants must be enrolled at an Australian Tertiary Institution who is an AACA member
The work must be the artist’s own work and must have been completed between August 2007 and August 2008.
The artist must submit up to three photographs or jpeg images (Approximately 800 pixels in length or width) andfill out the registration form via the website www.aaca.net.au. The closing date of the NTAP will be announced on the website soon. It is up to the entrants to make sure they are aware of any local sections of the NTAP if applicable. Please note there may be additional local fees to enter this competition – please check with your local NTAP Coordinator via the participating campus website links.

2. Medium
Entries must not be larger than 1m square for 2D work and 85cm cubed for 3D work. Installation work must be installed by the artist, or otherwise be accompanied by clear installation instructions.

3. Selection of Works
A selection panel will view all visuals and select the exhibition from all entries received. All works selected for hanging must remain on show for the duration of the exhibition. Notification of selection date will be updated soon.

4. Judging
The decision of the judges shall be final and no correspondence or discussion shall be entered into regarding the decision.

5. Registration
Artists may enter as many works as they like.

6. Sale of Work

All works exhibited at the National Gallery Exhibtion can be for sale unless marked NFS. A commission of up to 20% will be deducted from the selling price. Artists should be aware of their GST obligations prior to determining the sale price of their artwork and completing the entry form. Prices listed on the entry form are considered final, and will not be altered after submission

7. Preparation of Artwork
Works must be presented ready for exhibition i.e. mounted and framed with appropriate hanging devices attached or supplied. The artist’s name, address and phone number, title of work, price or NFS must be clearly marked on the back of each work, and on the entry form.

8. Transport and Insurance

Forward and return freight is the responsibility of the exhibitor. All transit insurance, forward and return is to be borne by the entrant. Whilst exercising due care and control, the gallery, AACA or the National Gallery Exhibtion host will not be liable or responsible for the loss, damage or theft of consigned work whilst in transit, in storage or on exhibit.

9. Receipt of Entries and Delivery Location

Works selected for the exhibition are to arrive by a date to be confirmed. The works are to be marked ‘National Tertiary Art Prize’. The devivery address and contact information will be updates soon.

10. Collection of Exhibited Work

The entrant must arrange for the return transport of the artwork. Works not collected within 14 days of the National Gallery Exhibition shall be disposed of at the discretion of the NTAP National Exhibtion host gallery and organisation.

11. Copyright

Works may be used as part of an online exhibition of artwork from the National Tertiary Art Prize 2008 on the AACA website and on interbet sites including but not limmited to www.aaca.net.au, www.myspace.com and sponsors and media websites.
The National Host Gallery and Organisation and AACA shall have the right to photograph or film work for newspapers, magazines, brochures, web pages, catalogues and on television or at such times as discretion determines. Acknowledgement of the artist will be duly made.
