The National Campus Film Fest is a celebration of original student filmmaking. We encourage entries from amateurs and expert filmmakers alike. The NCFF is all about creativity and originality, so if you have a great idea for a film, we want to see it - it doesn't matter if you've never picked up a camera before in your life! We're looking for films of every genre under the sun, from serious documentaries to sketch comedy to postmodern experimental film.

In the column to the right, you can download basic information about film writing, shooting and editing and see examples of past NCFF winners.

Prizes

Best Short Film: $500 cash
Runner Up: $250 cash
Innovative Award: $250 cash
People’s Choice Award: $250 cash

Films are judged on their entertainment value and originality rather than their technical brilliance.

Key Dates

Online Entries Close: 3 September 2010
National Final: 17 September 2010, The Starcourt Theatre, Lismore, NSW
Peoples Choice Award Cut Off Date: Monday 6th September 2010

Registration Process

1) Fill out the online registration form.
The deadline for online registration is 3 September 2010. Make sure you read the terms and conditions! Once you've registered, your local NCFF coordinator will email you to let you know when your campus' due date is.

2) Make your film!
We recommend that you make your film in accordance with G guidelines, however if this is not possible, we require you make it no higher than MA 15+ guidelines. Guidelines are available from The Classification Website. We require exemption from classification to screen your films. This is only possible if your film is deemed to not exceed the MA 15+ guidelines. If films are to be screened in a public place (which is likely if your film is any good), a rating no higher than a G rating will be accepted. Please take this into consideration when making your film.

3) Hand in a hard copy of your film (DVD or Mini DV) to your campus coordinator.
Make sure your film is clearly labelled with your name and the name of your film.

4) (Optional) Upload your film to YouTube and send the link to your campus coordinator.
If you upload your film to YouTube, you will be eligible for the People's Choice Award. This prize is awarded to the film with the most YouTube views. Please make sure you tag your film "National Campus Film Fest" so people can find your film to view.
