Who Can Enter? | Competition Dates | Backline | Prizes | Past Winners
NCBC is the largest live band competition in the southern hemisphere. NCBC has been running on Australian university and TAFE campuses across the country for 21 years providing audiences with some truly memorable moments and memorable bands. Each year up to 400 bands from over 40 institutions compete live, looking to be crowned national winners of this prestigious and highly respected competition.
NCBC is a great way to get live music experience under your band's belt, not to mention some great prizes and media and record company attention. Previous winners and entrants have included: Eskimo Joe, The Vines, Jebediah, George, Grinspoon, Waikiki, Frenzal Rhomb, 78 Saab, Augie March and The Vasco Era, to name a few!
The competition's local campus heats run from May–August (campus heats and regional finals: please check your local campus organiser for exact dates), with State Finals in Early September and the National Final in October in Canberra. It is your responsibility to check with your local participating campus regarding the dates of local heats.
Please note that in 2013, the National Campus Band Comp has implemented an entry fee of $25 per band. This fee is payable to your Campus Coordinator following registration.
Any band with at least one member who is
1) an enrolled student at a registered participating University or TAFE and

Solo artists can enter but this is not really the comp for you- have a look at Telstra Road To Discovery.
